This is the section for commentary about the game that would probably ruin your playing of it, so please go back to the low-spoiler
The White Wolf of Icicle Creek Hints if you haven't played the game yet.
If you have read that page already, and you still have questions remaining, then read on:
This is an unavoidable spoiler, but there are a limited number of possible deaths in The White Wolf of Icicle Creek,
and some of them are creative. You may not have experienced
all of them, and may be curious. (-: So, here's a list:
*You can freeze to death if you stay outside in the cold too long.
*You can pass out and die in the sauna if you're trapped in there too long.
*You can be killed in an avalanche later in the game (you will automatically survive the first one.)
*Most bizarrely of all, you can catch a naval mine while ice fishing in the lake, which will then explode and kill you.
(Somehow I don't think this is a real hazard faced by ice fishermen, but I guess they had to make this part more
You can also lose the game without dying if you start a fire in the kitchen while cooking, fall through thin ice on the lake, crash the snowmobile,
or allow the villain to escape in the endgame.
There is an easter egg in The White Wolf of Icicle Creek-- you get it by using the washroom repeatedly until Nancy mentions a phone number,
calling that phone number, and then catching the egg at the ice fishing shack. Once you have the egg you can use it to access the Chinook
room (which otherwise remains locked throughout the game) and give Nancy a weird dream. Both before and after finding the egg, Nancy
can also have several funny conversations with Mystico at the phone number she provides.
Generally, the plot of White Wolf of Icicle Creek held together quite well, but there was one thing I found befuddling: how did
Yanni get into the Needle? This was never explained, and it makes no sense-- he obviously did not have the four disks needed to open the needle.
So how did he get in there? Freedonian magic?
