Siege of Avalon Quests

Without spoiling any of them, here is a list of the major quests in Siege of Avalon, with the synopsis you get when they're assigned (note that this information may be incomplete or wrong in some cases--questgivers do not always tell you the whole story!)

I have not included any subquests which are necessary to complete a larger quest, nor have I included conversational mini-quests like "can you get an uppity Aratoyan to like you or not." Any 'quest' that can be completed in the same interaction you started in is a mini-quest for my purposes. Although mini-quests and conversations are not listed on this reference page, they are detailed in my Siege of Avalon Walkthrough, where you can look things up area by area.

Major Siege of Avalon Quests

Report to Avarous
You get this quest: As soon as you walk out the door of the first room.
The quest is: Find Captain Avarous and report for training. This only just barely qualifies as a quest, but it does get the ball rolling so to speak.
Notes: This quest is necessary for the game to progress.

Sealed With A Kiss
You get this quest: From Madden in the officer's hall in Outer Keep 2.
The quest is: Find his missing love letter.
Notes: Be sure to talk to Kent as well for maximum effect, and talk to both again once the quest is solved.

Fetch The Herbs
You get this quest: From Brother Mo in Outer Keep 1.
The quest is: Fetch him some herbs from the ruined village.
Notes: It's not necessary to complete this quest, but if you do, you'll also be able to use one of the herbs at the end of the chapter.

What's In The Basement?
You get this quest: From Alora the cook in Outer Keep 1.
The quest is: Find out what has infested the grain supplies in the basement and kill it.
Notes: Bonnie and Davet are also involved in this quest; be sure to question them fully before heading downstairs and again after dispatching the menace. Alora will also have a follow-up task for you once you've finished.

Brothers In Arms
You get this quest: Automatically from Penrith in the Outer Bailey, once you have reported to Avarous.
The quest is: Discover what has happened to Corvus.
Notes: This quest is not optional. It has many stages and will take up the rest of the chapter.

Cold Hard Steel
You get this quest: From Freemen the blacksmith in the Outer Bailey.
The quest is: Fetch him a bar of steel from the ruined village.
Notes: You can discuss this quest with Penrith. Freemen and Penrith will also have a follow-up task for you once you've finished.

Pell's Sorrow
You get this quest: From Olon in the Outer Bailey, after you have gotten Mudam's permission to leave the keep.
The quest is: Solve Pell's problem.
Notes: You will get some more persuasive conversational options if your Charm and Perception scores are high, but you'll still be able to solve this quest even if they are low (or if you choose poorly, for that matter.)
Is there any gift that this picky linguist will actually be satisfied with, or does he complain about anything you bring back?

Case The Chest
You get this quest: From Olon in the Outer Bailey, after completing the Pell's Sorrow quest.
The quest is: Find a locked chest in the village and report to him on its status.
Notes: If you report to Olon without first opening the chest, he'll only send you back again to open it, so you may as well just open it at the same time you find it.

Fetch The Amulet
You get this quest: From Elarath in Outer Keep 2, once you've been referred to him by Olon.
The quest is: Fetch him an amulet from the village.
But I've killed every single Sha'ahoul in the entire village and I still can't find it.

Fetch The Chalice
You get this quest: From Friar Massus in Outer Keep 1, once you've been referred to him by Olon.
The quest is: Fetch him a chalice from the temple in the village.
Notes: You may not actually have to be assigned this quest in order to complete it--returning the amulet to Massus seems to yield the same reward whether he requested it first or not. Once you've completed this quest, most NPC's in the Outer Keep area will change their dialogue accordingly.

Retrieve The Earthstone
You get this quest: From Sir Roth as Chapter Two begins.
The quest is: Find the Earthstone and bring it back to Roth.
Notes: This quest is necessary for the game to progress.

Letter From A Traitor
You get this quest: From Ither in Inner Keep 2.
The quest is: Retrieve a letter proving the identity of a traitor.

Return Tracy's Ring

Lydia's Fate
You get this quest: From Felious in the Inner Keep Basement.
The quest is: Discover what has happened to Felious' friend.

Courier? What Courier?
You get this quest: Technically from Sir Roth after talking to Weldon--in practice, though, you can solve it with just the information Weldon gives you, return to Sir Roth and present him with the fait accompli for the same reward.
The quest is: Discover what has happened to the courier.

Free The Lurkers
You get this quest: From the Lurker near the entrance to the Underground Temple.
The quest is: Free the Lurkers from their curse.
Special notes: This quest can not be completed until Chapter Five.

Free Lydia

The quest is: Free her from the lich's control.
Note: This quest is necessary for the game to progress.

The quest is: Collect four status reports for him.

Note: This quest is only available to fighters.

Scout The Enemy Camp
You get this quest: From Mudam in Outer Keep 2 as Chapter 4 begins.
The quest is: Scout the enemy camp and report back to him.
Note: Scouts must complete this quest; it is optional for other characters.

Note: This quest is necessary for the game to progress, unless you have chosen to skip chapter 4 completely.

The quest is: Assassinate General Ovoron.
Note: This quest is necessary for the game to progress, unless you have chosen to skip chapter 4 completely.
