Mystery of the Mummy Spoilers
Welcome to the new Computer Game Spoilers section of
my gaming website. I added this section because I recently received questions about the plots of two different games which, to my surprise
and embarrassment, I had totally forgotten the answers to. Then, to my further surprise, I was unable to find any existing website that
would refresh my memory about the plots of computer games... lots of puzzle solutions, but no basic plot summaries.

So I figured I'd better write some of them down while they're still fresh in my mind, just in case I or anybody else wants to refer to them
at some point in the future (or in case anybody suffers a major game glitch and just wants to know what was supposed to happen in the end--
I get letters like this from time to time.) If you haven't finished Mystery of the Mummy yet and you don't want the plot of this game
to be revealed to you, then you don't want to read this page. Please go back to my main
Mystery of the Mummy page, where I give tips and reviews without
giving away any of its plot.
But if you are looking for plot spoilers, just scroll further down the page to find them!
Plot Summary
This plot didn't make a tremendous amount of sense. Sherlock Holmes is summoned to the Montcalfe estate by Elisabeth Montcalfe
to find out what has become of her father, who has been missing for months and believed dead. As Sherlock Holmes investigates the
mansion, a mummy starts shambling around the place shooting at people. This mummy turns out to be none other than Lord Montcalfe, Elisabeth's
father. Apparently his doctor has been giving him laudanum that has caused paranoia and delusions, and he's now trying to achieve immortality
and kill or drive off anyone who would touch his artifacts. Meanwhile, Elisabeth is apparently the leader of some cult that wants to take possession
of the artifacts, and she is assisted in this by her cousin Jonathan Parkey. Once Sherlock Holmes has succeeded in locating some statuettes they
wanted, both Elisabeth and Parkey try to kill him, but Elisabeth is a poor shot and Parkey is killed by the angry mummy (Lord Montcalfe.)
But that doesn't mean Montcalfe is on Holmes' side here... instead, for some unknown reason, he creates a big, elaborate bomb to blow the whole
place up. Holmes defuses it and explains all of this to the dubious player.
Character Subplots and Secrets
Lord Montcalfe: Has disguised himself as a mummy. Seeks to kill both Parkey and his own daughter, Elisabeth, for trying to take his
treasures. Has been driven mad by an excess of laudanum. The police lead him off afterwards.
Elisabeth Montcalfe: Apparently a cult leader trying to get her hands on the artifacts, which is the real reason she hired Holmes.
Nothing is learned about her till the endgame. The police lead her off afterwards.
Jonathan Parkey: Elisabeth's cousin, working for the same cult she is. He is shot and killed by Montcalfe before he can kill Holmes
for the statuettes he has located.
John Watson: Holmes' devoted assistant, he shows up for the first time during the endgame to listen to Holmes' explanation of the
bizarre affair.
