Wizardry VII/Wizardry Gold Spoilers
Welcome to the new Computer Game Spoilers section of
my gaming website. I added this section because I recently received questions about the plots of two different games which, to my surprise
and embarrassment, I had totally forgotten the answers to. Then, to my further surprise, I was unable to find any existing website that
would refresh my memory about the plots of computer games... lots of puzzle solutions, but no basic plot summaries.

So I figured I'd better write some of them down while they're still fresh in my mind, just in case I or anybody else wants to refer to them
at some point in the future (or in case anybody suffers a major game glitch and just wants to know what was supposed to happen in the end--
I get letters like this from time to time.) If you haven't finished Wizardry VII yet and you don't want the plot of this game
to be revealed to you, then you don't want to read this page. Please go back to my main
Wizardry VII/Wizardry Gold page, where I give tips and reviews without
giving away any of its plot.
But if you are looking for plot spoilers, just scroll further down the page to find them!
Plot Summary
Wizardry VII (Crusaders of the Dark Savant) and Wizardry Gold have exactly the same story
and characters (only some of the illustrations and interface are different.)
There are a few different starting points for this game, due to the fact that there were a few different ending
points in the last game (Wizardry VI.) However, these differences are superficial and do not affect the plot
of Wizardry VII at all. One way or another, the party ends up on a spaceship landing on the world of
Guardia, in search of the divine artifact called the Astral Dominae... which is also sought by an archvillain
known as the Dark Savant. The party finds the artifact first, but are forced to trade it to the Dark Savant
in exchange for the life of Vi Domina, who he is holding hostage. The game ends with Vi and the party
in another starship following the Dark Savant to the planet Dominus, where they will have their final confrontation
in Wizardry 8.
Game Endings
There are four different endings to Wizardry VII/Wizardry Gold. Three are good and one is bad:
1) Refuse to trade the Astral Dominae for Vi's life. This results in the Dark Savant casting a spell that
leaves the characters "floating in endless darkness." It's not explained why this happens, but presumably
they opened themselves up to evil magic somehow by choosing to sacrifice Vi. This is the bad ending and
your party cannot be imported to Wizardry 8 if your game ended this way.
2) Tell Vi Domina about the Helazoid spaceship and rendezvous with her in the City of Sky, then trade
the Astral Dominae for her life. This ending concludes with Vi and the party flying to Dominus in the
Helazoid spaceship.
3) Don't tell Vi Domina about the spaceship or rendezvous with her, but trade the Astral Dominae for her
life, and then join the Umpani. This ending concludes with the Umpani flying Vi and the party to Dominus.
4) Don't tell Vi Domina about the spaceship or rendezvous with her, but trade the Astral Dominae for her
life, and then join the T'Rang. This ending concludes with the T'Rang flying Vi and the party to Dominus.
