This isn't a fancy map. It's actually the kind of schematic map we used to draw for text-adventure games back in the late 70's and early 80's.
And in fact, underlyingly, the Nancy Drew games basically ARE the kind of text-adventure games I used to program in BASIC on my C64.
There are twelve rooms. You can "look noun," "get noun," "use noun," "use noun on noun," or "talk person," and that's it.
But instead of just being able to type U,U,W to get from the saloon to Nancy's room, you have to make an 18-click journey through the
hallways. Progress? Well, at least they're nice-looking hallways.
